Current and Prospective Students

The West Chester University Department of Geology and Astronomy offers all University students with the opportunity and access to multiple facilities, including a planetarium, observatory, geology museum, and computer lab, membership into both a general entry and honors organizational group and, of course, information about the Department's various degree programs, current professorial research, data concerning a number of geological, astronomical, and meteorological issues of the past, present, and future, information and applications for a multitude of scholarships, internships, assistantships, and other job opportunities. Feel free to continue to navigate through this website for all the corresponding information you require, but also feel free to visit the Merion Science Center, and speak with any of our Departamental faculty and staff. Enjoy.

Additionally, the Department and its majors, minors, and other general or invited guests participate in various field trips, extra-curricular activities, as well as promote geoscience study both on campus and in the community.

One such recent example is Scout Day at the Zoo. At the event, a couple of department majors educated children on the diversity of minerals and hardness of minerals in comparison to household items. Below are some pictures.
